Chief Inspiration Officer
Rebecca can no longer see anything without imagining how she can make it better with dye, especially if that dye is pink. A graduate of Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, Rebecca has been combining creativity with strategic marketing for over twenty years, leading innovation, operations, and brand and product development for such companies as Unilever and Hartz Mountain Pet. Her passion for crafts and DIY home décor led her to Rit Dye and she’s thrilled to be part of a community that inspires people to lead more colorful lives.
Director of Community Connections
Ruth’s work experience is as colorful as a tie-dye shirt, complete with theatre, academia, tech and nonprofits. The common thread is her passion for telling stories and building supportive, interactive communities. At Ruth’s first dye party she felt like a child discovering ice cream, her eyes popped wide in wonder, so she is thrilled to be part of the Rit team. A dye newbie, she is quickly becoming a dye-vangelist (and turning every word into a dye-compound) and isn’t letting her dye-challenged apartment stop her from transforming her home through DIY color.
Vice President, Sales
Jill enjoys seeing people create, imagine and restore using Rit in their everyday lives. A graduate of Miami University and Texas Women’s University, she has been selling color for over 25 years at such companies as Revlon Cosmetics and Unilever, and now Rit Dye. Jill considers Martha Stewart her crafting idol because she makes DIY projects so appealing, and she wants everyone with a DIY color project to be able to easily find Rit in their favorite stores and online.
Dyesigner Network Curator
Growing up with bright red hair, Angela has always been happy to be associated with fun, vibrant colors. Working as a corporate trainer for many years, Angela was known for color coding and arranging basic office supplies in rainbow order. For the past 10 years, Angela has worked in the crafting industry where she has been published in numerous magazines, appeared on several crafting reality shows and has become a specialist in working with passionate brand ambassadors. She feels right at home helping connect a community of colorful, creative people who are only limited by their imaginations. As long as Angela is very careful not to permanently dye the kitchen tile grout, she is wholeheartedly supported by Mr. Angela Daniels and their two little redheads.
Director of Education
Dianne loves to dye almost anything – from wood to fabric to buttons. The only thing she loves more than dyeing is teaching someone how to dye. Dianne was an educator in the home sewing industry for many years, working with Coats & Clark, a major thread manufacturer, and Prym Dritz, a top end sewing notions company. Through her work in sewing she was introduced to the art of dyeing and discovered the infinite possibilities available to those who love and want to create with color. Several years ago this led her to Rit Dye and she has been creating colorful projects for others to try ever since!
Purveyor of Color
Louise has been surrounding herself with color for nearly all of her life, whether through her professional career in the color cosmetics business at Revlon where she managed key accounts and worked in customer marketing or through the flowers she coaxes into bloom in her home garden. A dye newbie, she loves trying new techniques (current favorite: ombre) and recently learned how to crochet flowers and dye them to accessorize hats and bags. She’s also gotten her family hooked—so much so that her son’s friend has started leaving his shirts at her home to be dyed for him. Louise is passionate about making Rit Dye available in a wide range of stores so everyone can explore the endless possibilities of the DYE-IY world.
National Sales and Export Director
When not actively enjoying the outdoors, Jim likes to think up new ways to incorporate Rit into his projects. He considers it an integral part of his life after 31 years of helping to build the brand by selling and promoting Rit nationally and through export. He is always looking to the future to what will be the next “NEW” idea, concept or project for Rit and how to incorporate that back into developing the brand and the products. He’s looking forward to testing out these new ideas and projects through his Rit Studio.
Chief of Staff & Dye Doctor
Gordon is a dye-hard Rit fan, avid tinkerer and DIY’er. He sees dyeing as a great way to bring his family together and teach his boys a creative process and enjoys scouring his home for items to up-cycle and customize using Rit. This includes refreshing out-of-style clothing, transforming Jenga into a colorful masterpiece, customizing his son Cal’s Lacrosse stick, and even adding color to an indoor rope swing. Gordon has been a part of the Phoenix Brand team for six years. He wears many hats for the company and is looking forward to adding “Ritster” to the list.
As a proud bargain shopper, Michele can now see past the colors of items that are left on the clearance rack knowing there is room for transformation thanks to Rit! Michele has a depth of experience working on iconic brands with passionate consumers, helping to revitalize them and unveil their full potential. She wants to help do the same for the expressive and creative Rit community and is eager to deliver a truly wonderful dyeing experience to both beginners and experts alike. Michele, herself, is a cautiously optimistic dyer, frequently testing her luck with new techniques and materials, and loves seeing new ways dyers are using Rit.
For the past 20 years, when not busy overseeing Rit’s manufacturing plant, Kathy has been creating colorful outfits thanks to the help of Rit Dye. And this doesn’t stop at clothing. Anything in need of color is a victim for her projects. Wii jellies, bed sheets, golf balls, bookshelves, clothespins, invitations: they’ve all been targeted for color reassignment. She looks forward to teaming up with everyone on The Rit Studio to knock out boring and bring on the color!
Manager, The Science of Color
Mark has been involved with color since he obtained his chemistry degree from Ball State University. For nearly 30 years he has been working with the Rit laboratories’ quality and research departments and credits his long career with Rit to his being part of a team that strives to produce the highest quality dye. Mark wants each and every person to obtain the best possible results when using Rit and helps to educate staff on the properties and applications of dye and on how best to resolve tough dye questions and consumer dyesasters to ensure everyone achieves true, rich color.
Chief Confidence Officer
Jim is an engineer by training and building and fixing things is what he does; dyeing is just the ultimate finishing touch! His colorful personality (proven by his calling them “mostly muted colors”) make him a good match for Rit and he has been a member of the team for nearly 10 years, which he considers a testament to how attractive color can be. In line with his oversight of the human resources and legal aspects of Rit, Jim wants everyone to feel confident, comfortable and secure while sharing their work and ideas with fellow dyers on The Rit Studio.
